After a two year wait, Billy Currington has announced the upcoming release of his fourth studio album Enjoy Yourself on Sept. 21.
In support of the album, Currington is kicking off a fall tour with co-headliner Carrie Underwood. The 15-city tour gets underway on Sept. 24 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Wash., and runs through Oct. 15 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill.
The primarily west and midwest tour also has stops set for Oct. 1 at the San Diego Sports Arena; Oct. 9 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas; and Oct. 13 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The forthcoming 10-track album features newly released single “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer” and is reported to be a mixture of country, R&B and beach tunes.

Billy Currington put on a crowd pleasing performance but did not return to the stage as an award winner at the 45th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. He was nominated for 3 awards in two categories, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year (artist and producer).
Currington was facing steep competition from Lady Antebellum who took home the prize for both Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for their smash hit “Need You Now.”
Billy Currington is also nominated for the Country Music Television (CMT) Award for Male Video of the Year. Fans can show your support by voting now at CMT.com.

The value of Billy Currington tickets just went up one more notch. He was recently added to the lineup for this year’s ACM Music Festival taking place June 10-13 in Nashville, Tenn., at LP Field.
Currington will be in lofty company, appearing alongside country legends like Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire, as well as other fresh country faces such as the Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Kellie Pickler and Lady Antebellum.
The annual country music event invites many of the biggest names in the business to donate their time and entertain the fans. In exchange, event organizers donate half of the net proceeds to benefit music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Billy Currington has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award for Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
For Single Record of the Year, he’ll be competing against Lady Antebellum, David Nail, the Zac Brown Band and Miranda Lambert. For Song of the Year, he’s going against Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift.
Though Currington is only nominated for two categories, he stands to receive three awards. That’s because some categories—like Single of the Year—have awards for the artist and the producer. In Currington’s case, he is both.
Let’s hope that Currington fares better at the ACMs than he did at the Grammys. He was nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song, but lost to Keith Urban and Taylor Swift, respectively.
The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. ET on April 18. The ceremony will also be broadcast live by CBS.

Billy Currington had one heck of a 2009, and things are only looking up for 2010.
Currington’s smash country hit “People are Crazy,” received two nominations – Currington himself scored one for “Best Male Country Vocal Performance” and songwriters Bobby Braddock and Troy Jones received a nod for “Best Country Song.”
The winners will be announced at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, held on Jan 31st, 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles – it will be shown on CBS from 8 – 11:30 PM, ET.
